Young House Family Services has operated Christamore Family Treatment Center in Mt. Pleasant since 1972. The residential program is licensed through the Department of Human Services to serve up to 16 girls and boys ages 11 – 17. The majority of residential clients are adjudicated either a delinquent or a CINA (Child in need of assistance), however, there are also private pay situations arranged through a school district or another funding source. Educational services are provided on campus. Skill development groups are facilitated several times daily on an individual and group basis to teach and enhance skills such as anger management, coping, stress management, communication, and relationship building. Family treatment services and family-focused activities are facilitated weekly to promote family involvement and enhance successful reunification for the child and family.
