Young
House Family Services provides these kids and their families with
something positive and permanent - something they can hold on to and feel
good about - something no one can ever take from them. Like a future
filled with promise, with healing and with wholeness, not the one they are
living today of sadness and despair.
How can we do it? Together.
We welcome volunteers and donors to become
partners with us. With your support we can continue to help those who
need us. Each week, Young House serves over 700 children and families. In
addition to residential treatment programs for troubled kids and for those
with substance abuse problems, we provide care for foster children,
in-home counseling for entire families, sexual abuse treatment,
counseling and prevention programs designed to assist families and
teens. Many of those served are court ordered, while others voluntarily
seek our services. All want a better quality of life and they’re willing
to take a chance.
Yes, we do all of that and even more.
We're able to do so much, so effectively, because we spend our resources wisely and because there is so much value in what we do. Growing number of children and families who need our help, and your
support is critical in our efforts to continue to improve the lives of
children.
How Can I Help
Young House Family Services?
There are at least six ways you can help
us:
1.
Annual Gifts of Cash --
We invite our friends to help meet the
challenges of the future through annual gifts made payable to the Young
House Family Services Foundation.
2. Stocks and
Other Securities --
Stocks and other securities transferred to Young House Family Services
Foundation are tax deductible at their fair market value. Donors are not
required to pay capital gains tax on appreciated securities that have been
held for more than one year before being donated.
3. Bequests
-- Suggested wording for an
unrestricted bequest: "I give to the Young House Family
Services Foundation the sum of $ (or provide a description of stock or
other property which is to be given) to be used in such manner as its
Foundation may determine."
4. Life Insurance
-- Established or new
life insurance policies can be left to the Foundation by naming it as a
beneficiary of a specific portion or a percentage of the existing or new
policy.
5. Memorials
-- Gifts of any type to the
Foundation may be established in memory or in honor of loved ones, friends
or business associates.
6.
Charitable Trusts --
There are a variety of different types of
trusts that a donor can establish to benefit themselves, their
beneficiaries and their favorite charities. These types of trusts include
the charitable remainder trust, charitable remainder annuity trust,
charitable remainder unitrust, and the pooled income fund. An estate
planning attorney, financial planner or trust officer may be able to
assist you in establishing the type of trust that is best for you.
As with gifts made during life, emotional
satisfaction is not the only benefit derived from your contribution.
There may be tax advantages to charitable giving as well. We would be
glad to meet with you and your legal or tax advisors to discuss the best
strategies for your unique circumstances. Please contact us for more
information at (319) 752-4000, ext. 105.
Always gratefully received, gifts to the agency may be
