To all Employees, Friends and Stakeholders of Young House Family Services:
Young House Family Services is working towards achieving accreditation. This is a very timely process, taking a great deal of staff time and resources.
With all of our resources focused on accreditation, we do not have the capacity to organize the banquet at the same time. The decision was made by administration and approved by the Foundation Board that there will not be a Young House Family Services Banquet in 2009. We have full intention to resume the banquet in May 2010. Please look for more information about this event as the time draws closer.
Seeking accreditation is critical for the agency. Young House Family Services, as we know it today, cannot survive long term without accreditation. It is something that the agency has looked at for a long time, and it will validate the great work we do. It will give us the credentials of being an accredited agency. It will say that Young House Family Services strives to offer services of the highest possible quality.
Through the process of becoming an accredited agency, we are improving the culture of our agency. A culture of wanting to provide the best services possible. Always looking at ways to do things better. Continually striving for improvement. Setting goals and determining steps to achieve them. Making every employee feel a part of the team. Giving feedback on progress. Rewarding jobs well done. It’s a new and better Young House Family Services!
Young House Family Services is committed to meeting the needs of the children and families in our community. It remains our mission to help abused, neglected and troubled children and their families by building on their strengths and giving them the tools they need to succeed.
